Alumna to exhibit art

OSU Alumna Kristin Gentry will be one of the featured artists at the newly re-opened Exhibit One Art Gallery. She will have numerous watercolor paintings, giclee prints, and woodblock relief prints on display for sale from Dec. 11 through Jan. 7. Gentry, a 2009 grad, is the children’s programmer for the Stillwater Multi Arts Center. This is the second art exhibition for the gallery under its new owner and OSU alum Cory Thacker. Phil Choo, Assistant Professor of graphic design, featured his brochure design in ADI (Art Design Institute) Design Award Graphic Design Annual. The brochure was created for the graduate program in the department of Design,Housing, and Merchandising, Oklahoma State University. It was awarded for Excellent Work and selected for both ADI's exhibition and publication. The exhibition was held from Nov.7th to 13th 2008 at Xiangshan Campus of China Academy of Art, Zhuantang Town, China. The publication is consisted of 312 pages in english and chinese. He is currently working on the brochure design for the department of art and looking forward to designing something special for the department.

Adjunct faculty member, Jo Lynch, is one of the featured artists in Gilcrease Museum's 2009 "American Art in Miniature" exhibition. AAIM 2009 showcases original paintings and sculptures from nationally renowned American artists.The exhibition runs from October 24 - November 8, at the Gilcrease Museum of Art, Tulsa, Oklahoma. OSU studio arts student showcased on art magazine cover




Graduating studio art senior, Rachel Marks, has work featured on the cover of CultureWest magazine.

In her article, "Art on a Pedestal: Re-defining Art and the Artist in the 21st Century," Kathleen Knapp provides a brief history of the evolvement of the term art, and what it means to be an artist. Rachel Marks frequently works with a focus in music, showcasing details of musical instruments, highlighting "their personality."

Successful Art History Symposium


The 2009 Art History Senior Symposium was held Saturday, April 25, 2009 in the Bartlett Center. In this symposium, seniors presented papers developed for the course "Art in Context." It was a great success! It was especially enjoyable to have Professor Emeritus Robert Parks give the keynote address.
